    Description

    Almy (later a Rear Admiral and the holder of the USN
    record for the longest period of seagoing service) provides Gustavus V. Fox, the assistant Secretary of the Navy, with a detailed, 4-page (long sheet folded once) report on conditions at the New York Navy Yard, in response to Fox’s queries about “the new appointees to the yard” and whether “they give satisfaction.”
