    Description

🛑❗️PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING ON OR BUYING THIS LISTING!! IT IS LENGTHY BUT I ASSURE YOU IT IS REQUIRED ❗️🛑
▶️I am selling my most precious collection of items from the United States Civil War (1861-1865) because my youngest sibling lost her home, vehicle and all but the pajamas they were wearing when an unimaginably strong wall of water overtook her home around 8:30am in the morning Saturday Aug 21, 2021 in the Middle to Western area of our state.
Thankfully her dog, which sadly perished the same morning woke her up as the first torrent of water began to invade every crack and opening it could. She rushed to her kids bedroom and shook them both awake and it was then the wall of water slammed through the sliding glass door and literally sucked all three of them out of the house and into the muddy, debris packed river. My nephew was able to catch the tailgate of their neighbors pickup truck and was rescued there no worse for wear about 4 hours later.
My Sister and Neice were swept almost a mile down stream and after being battered by the water and everything in it, washed up in a church parking lot. My sister suffered a dislocated knee and leg fracture and my niece required dozens of stitches as well as a fractured wrist from holding on to her mother the entire time. Thankfully all three are recovering physically here at my home which is almost 4 hours away.
Sadly because she lived over 2 miles from the nearest flood plain, she did not carry flood insurance and has literally lost the entirety of her Possessions including Birth Certificates, important job papers, she has literally lost everything and at 30 years old with a 10 and 7 year old must start completely over. My Brother and I went over there for a few days this week to try and salvage anything we could and besides my nephews bicycle, the foundation is all that remains of her home.
Unfortunately her 5 year old life saving Mixed Breed Shelter Mutt, Named Papaw of all things lol(that’s the exact kind of name you get when letting a 2yr old boy with ADHD name the family pet!) was electrocuted while being trapped somewhere in the house. His body was found with telltale singe and burn marks the next day in the Neighbors yard. I wish he would have lived, because I owe that 65lb dog the World and I never even met him while he was alive!
Anyways, I am going to try everything I can to help her and her children get to the next, better chapter of their
Lives. I honestly think that she’s still in shock and hasn’t really processed what happened and I don’t look forward to that taking place.
I have never been one to accept charity and have always felt that If I needed something for my family, I worked for it and if I couldn’t afford it and we were still alive, well then I didn’t need it that bad after all. I am not going to start now if I can at all help it. I will throw my cash app cash tag just incase anyone feels inclined to help, but otherwise I am going to be selling anything I have of value and no matter what I will keep being who I have always been, and that’s Honest, Hard Working and Big Hearted! I THANK YOU VERY SINCERELY FOR READING THIS AND WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE COLLECTION OR THE SITUATION WITH MY YOUNGEST SISTER!
    GOD BLESS!!
Oh yeah, My Cashapp Cash Tag is $goodckj , each and every penny donated to that account will go directly to providing essentials for my Niece and Nephew! Thanks Again From The Bottom Of My Family’s and My Souls!

Included in this Collection is the following. Please look at the photos for condition as they are almost 160 years of age. (Also, Everything except for the Two Books as well as the Smaller Booklet of Casualties are in protective Frames and will be shipped in their frames while being as protected as they possibly can be.)
đź“ŚAn original Ticket which enabled the holder to View the Body of President Abraham Lincoln as he made his way from Washington DC to his Final Resting Place In Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.
đź“ŚA personal letter from a Soldier to someone in his home town in Mississippi regarding finances and is a fascinating look at how much trust we had in our fellow man.
đź“ŚA hand written receipt for a Safe purchased in Nashville by a Union Major. (It was during a period of the war where instead of large scale assaults pitting enormous amounts of men on the line. The Confederate Soldiers were making small scale raids on Ammunition depots, Supply Lines, and Logistics hubs, trying to slow down the Unions superior abilities to get their Soldiers everything needed to keep them not only fighting, but doing so in good health!
đź“ŚThere are two Notes of Confederate Tender. One for half a dollar and the other a note.
📌A professionally framed Confederate Bond in the Amount of 0.(I have not taken it from the frame in order to see if the smaller, Monthly tickets are still attached, although I suspect not otherwise why not frame the entire sheet. I could be wrong and the larger frame wasn’t in the person’s budget?)
📌A Union officer’s coat button with Eagle on the front. Possibly used as a poker chip although the back is still intact.
đź“ŚA record of casualties of the Union Forces and the Battles and Engagements during the entire war. It says it is Respectfully Dedicated to the GAR by the Illinois Central Railroad Co
📌A 1889 Volume of the Washington Government Printing Office’s Compilation of the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies during “The War of the Rebellion “ prepared under the direction of the US Secretary of War by the late Lt Col Robert N Scott 3rd US Artillery. Series 1 Volume XXV in Two Parts. Part 2-Correspondence, Etc. In fairly good condition.
📌An extremely rare and quite possibly one of a kind Broadside Lithograph Original Soldiers Record of the 100th Indiana Volunteers. Including is a list of all privates with space for remarks about each. As well as the Regimental Field Officers including the Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Officers and even the Company’s Musicians and Wagoner. (I particularly love this piece as it provides hours of research to find out what happened with the individuals whose names are found on this Document from the 1860’s.) It’s in a very old, possibly original frame with slated back. I have only seen two others remotely like this one. One is owned by a private collector and is of a popular regiment out of New York and the second is in the possession of Duke University’s History Dept. and is nearly burned in half.
đź“ŚFinally my most favorite and rare piece. It is a 3rd edition copy of The Memoirs of William T Sherman from 1893. The book itself is not very remarkable. What is remarkable is that it belonged to Lt. William H Lloyd of the 33rd NJ Vol Infantry. This particular Company fought at Manassas, Antietam, Fredricksburg, Peach Tree Creek, Missionary Ridge, Chattanooga and more. They fought under Sherman the entire length of his infamous March to the Sea and took part in the Burning of Atlanta!
That’s all well and good in itself, but it gets even better!
The Book currently in my possession, that belonged to Lt.Col W.H. Lloyd was gifted to his son! It has a personal note from father to son exclaiming it as a gift.
The very best part and part that can bring a tear to my eye thinking about it. The father added notations in certain parts of the book in which he was present!
Including at the Conclusion of the War when Sherman’s Army was paraded through Downtown Washington DC in front of Thousands and Even The President and Vice President as well as The Entire Cabinet.
In the words of the Lt. Col. “How Grand We Were Then. I Was There Johnny….” How Amazing is that! You can feel the pride in this Old Soldiers words to his Son and if you have a inkling of a love of History, you can’t read that and not be Overcome with emotion or at the very least have goosebumps on your arm!
Yes Folks, My Heart Hurts at the Thought of parting with this collection, however seeing the three souls in my Living Room and the absolutely unimaginable pain they’re going through makes any Earthly Possessions seem almost insignificant.
After all, these items DO NOT BELONG TO ME, They BELONG TO HISTORY AND I HAVE CHERISHED EVERY MINUTE THAT I WAS THEIR GUARDIAN AND I WILL REST WELL KNOWING THAT I AM ONE STEP CLOSER TO REPAIRING MY SISTER’S BROKEN FAMILY AND THAT THESE ITEMS WILL BE LOVED BY THE NEXT GUARDIAN WHO’S FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO KEEP THIS HISTORY AND THE STORIES ALIVE!
    THANKS AGAIN AND GOD BLESS!!
I Will ship the collection with the Upmost Care and Safety. They Will Arrive To You In The Exact Same Shape They Left My Home In!
