1995 Grateful Dead " New York City Taxi !!! " Shirt issued to commemorate the Six ( 6 ) " Sold-Out " 1990 Fall Tour Shows ! - at Madison Square Garden in New York !!! ... " DEAD " Taxi " On Tour !! - in The Big Apple !!! ... with NYC Skyscrapers Galore !!  & Amazing !!!!!
Grateful Dead Fans !!! ... MSG-Dead ! ... & New York City Fans of the " Big Apple " too !!  Offered here is the Very-Rare ! & Amazing !! Grateful Dead " New York City - Dead Taxi ... On Tour ! " Tie Dyed Tour Shirt designed by David Opie ( '90 ) and issued by GDM, Inc. in 1995 to " Commemorate " the Legendary !!! 1990 Fall Tour stop ( 6-Shows ! ) at Madison Square Garden ! ... in New York, New York !!!  This " Classic ! " G.D. Shirt Design was actually Tour-Issued at the Shows ( inside MSG ) on 9/14/90 through 9/20/90 -- and then due to " Popular Dead-Fan Demand " ... this Shirt was then again ' Re-Issued / Re-Created ' ( with a (c) 1995 GDM, Inc. print marking on the Shirt ).  Definitely one of the Coolest-Ever ! & Most-Creative ! Grateful Dead " Opie " designs of All-Time - and most-certainly one of the most ' appropriate ' Dead-designs Ever ! for the one & only " Big Apple " itself !!  Dancing Bears ! - Skeleton ! - Steal Your Face ! & New York City Skyscrapers ! & a Checker " Taxi " Theme!!!  On the Shirt front you have Taxi driving Skeleton giving two Dancing Bears a ride to the Dead Show whilst cruising through the rose laden streets of New York City !  This is sure to be a Long-Strange-Trip indeed ... as the the Lightning Bolt ! designed Taxi is " On Tour " and has " DEAD " right-on its license plate !  Above the Taxi " New York City " is written in a funky purple script that contrasts nicely with the vibrant tie dye and checkered borders.  And, on the Shirt back ... " Grateful Dead " has the decibel level hitting the oranges and yellows - as " Madison Square Garden " is made up of the Starry-Night the Taxi is driving off into - complete with yellow Lightning Bolts ! blasting out of the Double-Exhaust !!  It looks like this Taxi is definitely " Dead-Tour Experienced " and is on its way to yet another night of the '90 MSG run with the Tour Dates on the pavement, and even a checkered Steal Your Face ! below ... with Rose Petals ! blowing away in the wind.  A Very-Rare ! & Awesome ! As this is a distressed ( moderately-distressed ) vintage shirt - here are the issues that stand out to my eye upon very close inspection :
>>> a large distress 'area' on the shirt front bottom area (bottom 8" of shirt) - holes & bleach stains (please see photos/close-up photo #9).
>>> four (4) small/medium size holes (bleach holes) on shirt front bottom area (please see photos/close-up photo #9).
>>> multiple small/medium 'white' bleach stains on shirt bottom front area (please see photos/close-up photo #9).
>>> a few secondary/decorative stitches missing from back collar stitching (please see photos/close-up photo #10).
>>> cracking of design emblem images & light fading of shirt material fabric dyes (please see photos/close-up photos).
