Description
An original Civil War letter written by a soldier named S. C. Bradt. It appears to be dated 1864 from Fort Skylar. I currently have another letter listed that appears to indicate this soldier was in the 13th New York Regiment. In one area it looks like it says,........Thare has ben five men shot hear for runing the garde thay are vary strick hear more so than I did expect the boys in our company is aboute all from Saratoga County............thare was one man in worde 9 went to bed last knight in the morning he was found ded, thare was a man in our Warde that was robed of one hundred & four dollers thare was five men that robed a lot of Dutchmen on the cares coming from Elmira...................The letter has wear and stain marks.
