    29th Indiana Infantry Civil War Letter Robert Christie 1861. Condition is "Used".
    Robert writes his brother from Camp Nevin November 26, 1861. Signed Robert . Includes cover written to James Christie.
    He writes that “ Reasseau” has command of the first brigade and has gone ahead a few miles. He has the cavalry with him and a battery of 6 guns , four is large for throwing shells. General McCook says he will not go on to Bowling Green until he has 60,000 men. He believes there is 50,000 now. The heslth of his regiment is improving. His regiment goes go on picket tomorrow.
    Contraband are good cooks and make first rate corn cakes.
    Capt. Doctors his own company and has better success than the surgeon. The Colenel is drilling them in skirmish drills. German regiment is best drilled in camp. At sound of bugle they run into their place in a moment. Mentions the 32nd Indiana. The old man new lieu in Rochester company when to Buckner.
