    This 1 page Sept 10, 1864 was written from Sullivans Island near Charleston, SC to Capt W. H. Peronneau probably by Robert Reid Hemphill 2nd SC Rifles from Abbeville, SC.  This came out of a group of his papers which I purchased years ago.  It is an apology for having made a joke about a superior officer Capt. W. H. Peronneau.  It is unsigned and may have been a rough draft. It is written on blue period seccesh  8 1/2 x 11 inches paper.  Shipping includes insurance.
