    Description

    This 8 x 10 inch Letter is 3 pages long and was written by Asst Surgeon William S. Cannon 16th Regt South Carolina Infantry from Adams Run, SC to his fiancee Mamie Prentiss.  Talks of his love for her and looking forward to their marriage on the 23rd of the month, Oct.  He talks of extracting a friends tooth, etc. This document is a good companion piece to another I have listed.  The other document is a handwritten note from General Johnson Hagood to Cannon expressing his appreciation for the invitation Cannon sent him to his wedding  but is unable to be there.  It is signed by General Johnson Hagood.  There are some splits at the fold seams, some being repaired with acid free archival tape.   Shipping includes insurance.
