This is a letter written from Monterey, TN by George Williamson to Peter Williamson.  .  Three pages with a typed transcript included. It is written on Patriotic Song Sheet stationery. It is written May 2, 1862.  "the wood ticks has eat me about up. Good news General Pope and General Mitchell had taken 12 thousand Secesh prisoners yesterday in the afternoon and has 40 thousand more surrounded..they sent back after our siege guns.  on picket where the musketoes and wood ticks is rearing their gang  hear the drums in camp. Etc.  Some of the seams are reinforced with archival non acid tape that is hardly noticeable.  Shipping includes insurance.
